the NEW me is coming

I'm canceling this LJ and starting over as Talulla. Why. Because most of my internet identity is known as Talulla and because it's time I got rid of the identity I've had since High school.

For some reason my voter registration card never got to me. I guess there was something I had to send back. Now the only place I can vote is up in McKinney. Which is about a 30 minute drive. Oh well. Road trip for me and the Peanut.

Random Pet peeve

Unnecessary scarves. Pretty, narrow scarves are great. Silk, cashmere, whatever. Ones that add a little flair to your outfit. Groovy
Giant, a yard wide, long enough to be a sari, just silly. Especially when you're wearing a sleeveless shirt.
And guys, SERIOUSLY? Why? I don't have too many complaints about guys wearing a some kind of jacket and it's a narrow scarf, or if it's actually cold enough to need one.
Why this peeve, Rebecca, you ask? Isadora and I were people watching in the mall today and a couple pass. Both are wearing scarves. The woman in a sleeveless shirt and this HUGE scarf that dangled to her knees, the guy, A t-shirt and a a scarf.
IT'S TEXAS! The low was 60. No where near cold enough to even consider looking at a scarf
MUH

OMG Get over it

Here's a link to an article that annoys the hell out of me.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27008935/?GT1=43001

I'm so sick of Separation of Church and State. Everyone is sooo worried the non-religious people are going to be offended. You know what? Who fucking cares? What about my rights as a Christian? What about the Bhuddist kid? Maybe not allowing my to say a prayer before a test offends me. If a teacher wants to talk about Hinduism, I don't care. I don't care if my kid hears it. Here's a thought, teach your children, talk to them. Have an open ended conversation about your beliefs. Let your children know it's ok to believe what you want and that just because there's a Muslim club at school, it doesn't mean you have to join it.
The parents with there panties in a wad about yoga need to shut up. IT'S YOGA. Stretching and breathing. Trust your children enough that they will know. If you have a problem with it, tell your child not to participate. Or let your child learn on his own and make his own decision. A lot of these classes are in high schools. By then, you're old enough to know if your rights are being violated. If I had a teacher trying to shove his beliefs on me, I would have known better in high school.
ANYHOO

Another baby story

I went to the grocery today, because although we're moving, we do need to eat. We had no food.
But anyhoo, that's not the point.
Whilst looking at the bananas, one of the produce workers commented on Isadora's pretty eyes and said she was a cutie. This got Izzie doing her adorable gummy grin/pretend I'm shy flirty thing. The gentlemen said "you have mommy's eyes and I bet you have lots of Daddy things too."
At the mention of Daddy, Izzie starts looking around frantically, then the bottom lip started quivering, then the sad little Peanut cry. I picked her up to console her. The gentleman apologized for upsetting her. Then we chatted for a moment more and the D word was said again. She looked around everywhere for Evan, then started crying again.
No, she's not Daddy's girl.

The MP3 Game!

Alright I'm a sheep. Here's the music Meme: Turn your MP3 player on random, write down the first line of the 1st 25 songs. Then your friends have to try and guess the title and artist. When they do, cross it out.
SO here goes!!
1. Long white arms, losing their strength and form...
Sixty year man on twenty year old skin.

2. We'll do it all. Everything. On our own...
We don't need anything or anyone

3. <strike>So if you're lonely, you know I'm here waiting for you...</strike>
<strike>I'm just a cross hair I'm justa shot away from you~</strike>Take Me Out, Franz Ferdinand~Infidelpant

4. To yell at her dumb ass.

Weird

and now to describe the weird dream I had.

I wanted to take a shower, but for some reason someone (I think my sister) had set up the shower head so it flowed over top of a bed. I complained, stating the obvious, showers can't be over the bed. My sister said, "Well just moved the bed to the side of the room" and when I did, I discovered that the floor was covered in carpet and no drain.
Then, as in dreams, I remembered that another room in the house (by the way, not any house I've ever been in) had tile floor and pipes in the ceiling and a drain in the floor. So I go to set up the shower in there. I start to put up a shower curtain (that looks like the comforter on my bed. Really cool, actually) only to discover there is some sort of corporate meeting going on in this room. A huge long conference table is set up and a room full of CEO types. A very nice lady tells me, "Go ahead and shower, we wont be in each others way)
Then magically the dream changed and Patrick from Coupling (a British show played on BBC America) is trying to kiss me. I tell him, no. Because he's dating my friend Jennifer Aniston. But I asked Patrick to run my to Blockbuster because I have a movie I need to bring back. His "car" is a shopping cart.
Now suddenly, I'm visiting my good friend Jennifer at work. She's a receptionist at a world renowned model agency in New York. Her desk is outside on the front side walk of the building. It's huge, one of the kind you'd find the study of a mansion or castle. The chair is this massive, gilded throne like thing.
Then I woke up because Izzie was crying

I've learned a lot since becoming a Mommy.Things they either don't tell you or you just don't understand until it happens to you. Here are a few

-Toothbrush gags. Yeah. What the hell?
-You're tired (as in sleep 12 hours and still take a mid day nap tired) in the first trimester. I always thought it only be at the very end, when you're heavy with baby.
-Hormones. It's not the silliness they joke about on TV, but they are wacky. There were moments of "Seriously, why am I crying?"
-Labor is REALLY FUCKING PAINFUL. And having the nurses asking you to "rate your pain on a scale from 1-10" is probably the most annoying thing EVER!
- a 10 minute shower is a luxury
-You can live without taking a shower.
-Don't watch those High risk pregnancy reality shows.
-Never have I been ok with being woken up every 2 hours
-You get damn good at running all your errands in a 3 hour window
-I have to leave the house 20 minutes before I need to leave the house to only arrive 10 minutes late
-Breast feeding isn't easy. They make it seem like you just hold the baby to your chest, she drinks, there is no pain, all is good.
-The nursery nurses are CRAZY. They're feeding NAZIS!!!!!
-It really will be ok. Breast feeding gets easier. Your milk will come in, the baby will get nourishment. CPS isn't going to come and take your baby, your husband won't leave you and your family isn't going to disown you.

The cheese dilema

I've started buying blocks of cheese and grating it myself. To save money and to not be lazy. I've noticed self grated cheese has this habit of sticking together. Makes me wonder what they put in the already grated packages so the cheese bits don't stick to each other.

Evan still hasn't heard anything about the supposed positions available. Someone in the company said there was a position, call this person, she's expecting your call. This was yesterday and no one has called back. The more this stuff goes on, the less I think he should work there.

The baby wasn't her normal peppy self yesterday. She just seemed blah. I let her sleep in the bed with us until about 2 am. Izzy seemed to need extra snuggles and I certainly don't mind giving them.

I think I'm starting to get cabin fever. I've been really bored the last few days and can't find anything entertaining to do. I'll think about taking the baby for a stroller ride, but then laziness takes over. That seems to be what happens when I'm bored

Ouch

My back really hurts. I don't know what I'm doing. It does this every time I nurse the baby on my left side. I've tried holding the baby in a zillion different ways, with pillows, without. Evan even got me a really comfy La Z Boy chair in Izzy's room, you'd think it would help. I don't know. But I gotta figure something out. I've been up since 5:30 because I couldn't get comfortable.
Isadora is doing great. She's doing great with the rice cereal. Still loving it! We've been spoon feeding about 2 teaspoons to her and putting the other 2 tsp. in her Daddy bottle.
Still don't know what's going on with a new position for Evan. I'm really annoyed with the whole situation.
Daylight savings time is silly.
I need to shower. Meh

My Pooh Bear Test!

You scored 14 Ego, 10 Anxiety, and 11 Agency!

"Correct me if I am wrong," he said, "but am I right in supposing that it is a very Blusterous day outside?"

"Very," said Piglet, who was quietly thawing his ears, and wishing that he was safely back in his own house.

"I thought so," said O-wl. "It was on just such a blusterous day as this that my Uncle Robert, a portrait of whom you see upon the wall on your right, Piglet, while returning in the late forenoon from a-- What's that?"

You scored as Owl!

ABOUT OWL: Owl is considered highly educated because he can spell his own name (WOL) and he can even spell Tuesday... although he doesn't always get it right. Owl is a good sort, really, although he can be a bit of a stuffed shirt, and he tends to overlook the smaller details in life - like the fact that his bellpull is actually someone's tail.

WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are confident and you feel capable of dealing with whatever life throws at you. You know that you can handle just about everything... mostly because you know how to delegate the job of actually handling things to the people around you. You aren't one of those Bisy Backsons, who rush around trying to do everything at once. You prefer to stay at home and reflect on life, rather than go out and live it.

Sometimes, you know, you need to stop waiting for things to come to you and go out and get them. You need to go enjoy the weather, smell the fresh air, and pay attention to the little people in your life. They may not be as great as you... but maybe they could use your help.
